Kickoff to South Florida Superyacht Season Miami Yacht Show & Superyacht Miami

February 11, 2020
By Patrick Knowles

Miami may have just hosted the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards were last weekend, but South Florida has its own superyacht “Super Bowl” and “award show” season kicking off this week with the 32nd Annual Miami Yacht Show and Superyacht Miami, the city’s premier luxury yacht and superyacht show, February 13-17, 2020.

Showcasing the most extraordinary and uniquely designed superyachts from the world’s foremost custom builders, this year’s show promises to be a world-class experience overall, but especially for superyacht interior designers, owners, and design enthusiasts.

Superyacht Miami is exclusively showcasing the largest, most luxurious vessels from around the world, so it is certainly promising to be a world-class experience overall, and most certainly an adventure in design discovery, inspiration, and influence.

From a design perspective, the Miami Yacht Show/Superyacht Miami is always a highlight – not only because Miami has now become an international design destination and nexus, but also because it has become one of the biggest superyacht destinations in the world.

Push the Envelope Please

As the anticipated key themes for yacht and superyacht design trends for 2020 are bigger, bolder, greener, and increasingly more luxurious, experiential, and innovative than ever, I am especially excited about seeing the various interpretations on this year’s showcase yachts.
Superyacht designers are pushing the envelope in color and tone, furniture, art, shape, materials, lighting and technology and highly skilled craftsmanship in architecture, carpentry, marquetry, metalwork, and a multitude of other disciplines.

Superyachts this year are reaching yet another new height of sophistication.

Sustainability has become a premier focus for superyacht design and interiors, with many vessels developing phenomenal solutions to help reduce their environmental footprint. The new generation of superyacht owners place a high premium on sustainable materials, design techniques, and leveraging technology and lighting in an eco-friendly way, and there is sure to be inspiration for this throughout the show.

See You At The Show

The 32nd Annual Miami Yacht Show and Superyacht Miami will house the largest, show-stopping mega yachts and “giga” yachts. It is the first stop in what promises to be an exciting year ahead for design, particularly here in the superyacht capital of North America – South Florida!

When you’re ready to customize your very own superyacht, I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you. Enjoy the show!
