As we head into the end of 2022,
our clients are already updating their yachts to match the design trends for the new year. Are you trend-ready for 2023? Below is a look at five of the top trending looks you’ll be seeing on superyachts and beyond:
After seasons of cream on cream and neutral palettes, bright colors are back. From pops of pink and shades of greens and orange to maritime inspired primaries like red and blue, there is no lack of vibrancy on the docks in the upcoming year.
Collections are Back
2021-2022 were very focused on streamlining and creating minimalist spaces, but the end of 2022 saw a return to maximalist design and that means collections are back in 2023. Whether you collect wine, cigars, books or mementos, now is the time to put them on show – in a curated and beautiful way of course.
The colors, the veining, the use of the stone itself – nothing creates a statement like the right piece of marble in a room. In the new year you will see yachts with exotic marble, man-made sustainable marble and new uses for all.
Classic Patterns in New Ways
Seen on the runways in fashion week and predicted by all design trend experts, classic patterns like pinstripes, houndstooth and plaid are back, but in new and modern ways. This is always a favorite of mine, and can most recently be seen in the use of a pinstripe carpet in this classic yacht space giving a more contemporary feel to the design.
Luxury in New Niches
A sleek, superyacht-like interior on a sportfisher, a luxurious and modern beach-house type design on an industrial vessel turned recreational vessel – this is only the beginning of the work we look forward to doing in bringing premium luxury to unexpected spaces. If you can desire it, PKD can design it.
